About Campaign


How is the Campaign Goal determined?
United Way Fox Cities has what is called a 'needs based' campaign goal because it is driven by the dollar amount needed to fund partner agencies' programs.  Programs are funded on a two-year cycle.  In the spring of 2007 the community impact volunteers reviewed agency programs and budgets for 2008 and 2009.  Volunteer funding recommendations were approved by the United Way Fox Cities Board of Directors in May.  The proposed program investment assists in establishing the campaign goal for the fall  community-wide campaign.

Who runs the campaign?
The campaign is a community effort, led by the Campaign Cabinet.  The Campaign Co-Chairs assemble volunteers to be on the Campaign Cabinet.  This group is made up of community volunteers from various area corporations who ensure the campaign operates as efficiently as possible. Approximately 100 individuals volunteer on the United Way campaign team.  Hundreds of others volunteer time at local companies to raise money to support United Way Fox Cities.

To reach as many corporations as possible, there are divisions made up of like businesses and campaign cabinet members assigned to each division.  The cabinet members are responsible for communicating with CEO's of companies in their division, sharing campaign information, and acting as United Way ambassadors.  The United Way staff plays a large part in planning, coordinating, and implementing the campaign.  To become a campaign volunteer, contact the United Way Fox Cities office at 954-7210.

When does the campaign take place?
The Pacesetter companies run their campaigns the month of August and lead the way for the community-wide campaign that runs September through mid-November.

What is a Pacesetter?
Every community needs leaders to set the pace.  These companies and organizations, along with all United Way Fox Cities partner agencies, run their fundraising campaigns the month of August.  These companies lead the way into the community-wide campaign that kicks off each September.

How can my company participate in the annual campaign?
